Bringing Back Humanity's Lost Heritage
In these trying times for Ukraine, preserving cultural heritage has become a critical task in protecting humanity's shared values. This mission has been supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, UNESCO, Europa Nostra, and the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO as part of the project "Returning to the World of Dmytro Bortnyansky’s First Opera "Creonte".
A unique cultural event of European significance took place on November 11, 2024, at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. On this date, the world premiere of Dmytro Bortnyansky’s first opera, "Creonte" was presented. Originally premiered in 1776, the opera had disappeared without a trace and was believed to be lost to humanity forever.
We are delighted to have had the exceptional honor of co-organizing the November 11 event and restoring to humanity a masterpiece by an acclaimed Ukrainian composer of European stature.
