We sincerely congratulate the Kyiv Classic Orchestra, which has successfully performed at the Al Qurain Cultural Festival as part of the Ukrainian Culture Week in Kuwait.
The orchestra performed at the invitation of the National Council for Culture, Art and Literature and the Embassy of Ukraine in Kuwait. The concert took place on the stage of the Abdulhussain Abdulridha Theater. The solemn evening was opened with national anthems of Kuwait and Ukraine.
The concert program featured music by Ukrainian classical composers and contemporaries - Mykola Lysenko, Semen Gulak-Artemovsky, Mykola Leontovych, Myroslav Skoryk, Yuri Shevchenko and Yevgen Khmara. World classical works of W.A. Mozart, J. Bizet, P. Tchaikovsky, J. Strauss, J. Brahms and others were performed by the orchestra with great skill during the evening.
The audience was especially enthusiastic about the songs performance from the repertoire of legends of Arab music - the unrivaled Fairuz and Umm Kulthum. The music of Kyiv Classic Orchestra was highly appreciated by Kuwaiti listeners. In particular, the Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature, Mr. Kamel Al Abdul Jalil, attended the concert, emphasized that the Kyiv Classic Orchestra is a "world-class collective". He also praised the performance and vocals of Arabic melodies.
The orchestra performance was covered by many Kuwaiti media. "Impressive level of professional performance", "Great skill and enthusiasm of the orchestra", "The audience interacted with the orchestra, expressing their admiration for the diversity of the concert program," "… world-class collective" is the overall tone of the Arab press reviews of the orchestra's performance.
One of the leading newspapers "Kuna" wrote: "The enthusiastic public spontaneously interacted with the band (Kyiv Classic Orchestra - ed.), confirming that such events bring culture closer and strengthen relations between countries".
